"We have a trade to announce!"

August 22, 2018 – In the words of another famous hockey commissioner, “We have a trade to announce!” The Edson Aeros are pleased to announce that they have completed a trade with the Cheyenne Stampede to bring Riley Warner back to his home province of Alberta. Riley a product of Beaumont, Alberta was playing for the Stampede last season. Terms of the trade are for future considerations.

Warner started last year with the Arizona Hawks and was picked up by Cheyenne early in the season. Riley says he is excited about playing hockey in his home province and is looking forward to getting on the ice at main camp which starts Monday, August 27th.

The 17-year-old 6’3”, 215lb forward is no flyweight. Riley likes to get into the corners and dig for the puck and considers himself an “energy” player. He’s excited about coming to Edson and attending school here to finish his Grade 12.

“We can say with certainty that we are excited about Riley coming to the Aeros as well. We’re very excited to have this fine young man and great hockey player coming to join us”, says Axmann. “The Aeros are all about hockey, education and community involvement and Riley fits the mould in all three categories!”

Warner is expected to arrive for the main camp in August and be ready to attend school in September.

Welcome to Edson and the Aeros, Riley!!
