Local product impresses enough to earn spot on the Aeros

August 30, 2018 - Edson Aeros President and General Manager, Axel Axmann, announced that the Aeros have signed forward Carter Samson to a player agreement.

Carter is a local product of the Edson Minor Hockey system and has worked extremely hard over the summer to compete for a position on the team. His play in camp has impressed and the Aeros are looking forward to having him as part of the team.

“Samson still has some things to work on but his enthusiasm, passion and willingness to put the time and effort in is a large reason why the player agreement was offered to him. Having Carter play with some high-level players will only increase his own ability. We’re looking forward to watching Carter develop this year” said Axmann.

“Camp ends today and unfortunately some players have and will be released. Others have self-selected to leave as their skill level wasn’t up to their counterparts on the ice.  We will continue with player recruitment and we do have other signed players arriving within the next week” Axmann advised. “We will continue to build on the foundation that we have and it should be noted that we have time on our side to get the final product ready for our season opener.

Thank you very much for all the fans that have attended our camp this past week. Your interest, enthusiasm and kind words are very much appreciated. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will be the Aeros but with the strong base that we have and the strong support of the Edson community, the sky's the limit!!

Welcome to the Aeros, Carter...Now get back to work!
