Hiring: Under 18 Program Head Coach

Head Coach/Cold Lake Aeros Under 18 program - PHL

The Cold Lake Aeros Under 18 program is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach. This is a key position that will perform all duties of the role of a Head Coach and as an Assistant Coach to the Cold Lake Aeros Junior A Hockey Club. 

Responsibilities:

Serve as the official representative on behalf of the Cold Lake Aeros Under 18 program

Preparation of a season plan that follows the same path as that of the Junior A program. 

Plan on and off-ice activities in consultation with the Head Coach of the Junior A program. 

Take a lead role in planning and implementation of all player evaluations

Develop game and practice plans with a focus on skill (individual & team) development. 

Take the lead role in pre-game preparation for players and assistant coaches

Ensure all players get equal instruction and support to ensure player development and provide feedback to players. 

Foster an environment of regular and effective communication with parents/legal guardians

Travel with the team to all showcases, tournaments, and road games

Attend meetings with the Aeros Executive and coaching staff as required

Be a point of contact for scouts, agents, and other team representatives in the Premier Hockey League (PHL)

Conduct exit interviews with graduating or departing players

Perform additional duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications:

This is a part-time paid position

Must have a strong coaching background demonstrated by strong communication skills, sound hockey knowledge, and hockey theory-producing player development and skills. 

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Must have player recruiting experience

Must have coaching certification

Must provide criminal records check and vulnerable sector check
