Aeros hire Corey Bricknell as the new Head Coach


 



The Aeros are pleased to announce the signing of Corey Bricknell as their new Head Coach. 

Corey hails from Port Perry, Ontario and currently resides in Meaford, Ontario. He’ll be making the trek west to Edson this coming summer and we’re looking forward to having him with us. “I’m very excited to join my new hockey family!, said Corey, who is currently in Tampa Bay, Florida, coaching and scouting players. 

Corey’s Bio:

“As a Player, Corey was Drafted 60th overall to the Newmarket Royals (now Sarina Sting) of the OHL at the Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens. Corey’s OHL career was split between the Royals and Niagara Falls Thunder ( now Erie Otters). Following his OHL career, he had a very successful professional career playing 7 years in North America.

In 2000 Corey retired from playing and stepped right into a very successful coaching career. He has coached at every Junior level including the OHL, as an Assistant Coach of the Barrie Colts. Corey also served dual roles as Head Coach and General Manager for the Iroquois Falls Eskis, Elliot Lake Wildcats, French River Rapids of the NOJHL,  and most recently as the Head Coach of the Meaford Knights of the GMHL. He also has coached Professionally in Hungary in the First Division/ Erste LIGA, serving as Head Coach of the Dunaujvaros Steel Bulls.

Corey is able to bring his vast knowledge of the game from a playing, teaching and development perspective to our athletes.

Corey has first-hand knowledge of what Scouts at the next levels are looking for in a player. He brings 20 years of experience and has built a vast network, communicating and negotiating with Junior, U Sports, NCAA and Professional Hockey Clubs and their personnel.”
